Luke did great in his half marathon today. I'm super proud of him. :) Cori and Matt did awesome as well! It was really fun to watch them. Julie, Brayden, Sydney and I got to see all of them at mile 12. Can you believe that they woke up before 4am to start running at 6am?? Wow, I'm still tired thinking about it. Julie helped me with Sydney and Brayden. It was fun having someone to hang out with :)
We have started re-arranging the bedroom/living room for the new baby. It's fun to prepare and realize that this is happening soon. Jonny, Denise and Bailey came over to "play" this afternoon. The girls act so much like sisters: fighting with each other and loving each other the next minute. They will really miss each other when we live apart.
Sydney's silly face keeps cracking me up. Whenever I'm having a hard time with my back, she'll come up to me and do that face. It ALWAYS makes me laugh. I love it!

Wednesday...
Today has been a typical Wednesday... Gym in the morning, playtime, lunch, nap for Sydney, then some alone time for Mommy :) Praise the Lord for naps, even if they are short!
Just a few thoughts about this next baby. Well, first of all, I have decided that I am way more fearful of the labor and delivery this time around. I think having experienced it once and realizing how truly horrifying the pain is, makes you very afraid the second time around.
Interesting note: this little girl is insanely active! I kid you not that she moves sooo much of the day that it seems she is never sleeping. Even while I'm exercising, she is using her umbilical cord as a jump rope to try to keep up with me! I'm excited to see how much energy she will have when she enters this world. After all, her nickname is already "marathon baby." (You'll have to ask Luke about that one!) She'll make an excellent playmate for Sydney :) These days I have barely been able to keep up with Syd...
Daddy took her outside yesterday and spun her around about a thousand times. She was so dizzy, but kept asking for more. It was hilarious to watch. I wish I had it on tape. She also does pushups with Daddy and always wants to do headstands when he is doing his handstands against the brick wall in our backyard. It's fun to watch the two of them interact. They already have a special bond.
We'll be in Anaheim this weekend for Luke's Half Marathon in Disneyland. He is running with our good friends Matt and Cori. Julie is coming along to help me babysit both Sydney and Brayden (Matt and Cori's little one). Wish we could go to Disneyland while we are there, but that is unlikely.

Friday
Hi everyone.
So, these videos are just small snapshots into Mommy and Sydney's day. We are quite exciting, I know!
Today we made it to swim class again. Sydney was sort of tired today (mostly because she wouldn't eat breakfast), so we didn't stay the whole lesson. Kind of nice though because we had the whole small locker room to ourselves for a few minutes. (It can be quite entertaining/annoying to manipulate wet, slippery toddlers on a hard tile floor while they only want to play with each other or eat their raisins that they dropped on the disgusting floor.... I could go on, but I'll stop!)
My back pain has been undeniably horrible. I went to the doctor this week, and she recommended a back brace, chiropractic work, and acupuncture. I literally couldn't walk for 2 days. Today and yesterday have been the best days so far. The baby must have moved positions. Still, the pain is very much still there. I look forward to the back brace arriving.
Luke started another master's level class last night. Sounds like it'll be the best one so far, so that is a blessing. He is still doing extra work for his job, not to mention all the stuff he has to do for separation from the Air Force.
Still no names for this next little girl. We like some, but it always seems so hard for us.

Mommy and Sydney
It was a blast watching Sydney play with the goats. I was surprised how brave she was around them. It was fun!

Here we are at the petting zoo... Sydney's favorite part of the zoo. I'm 7 and a half months pregnant. :)
Our weekend
This past weekend, we attempted to take a mini vacation to San Diego. We went to the San Diego zoo on Saturday. It was warm and we did a lot of walking. Sydney did surprising well. Even though her nap was pushed off until we left, she held up pretty well. When we got to the hotel, Sydney was still asleep, so we drove around for a few more minutes. Then we spent some time in the hotel pool. Sydney loves to jump in. We are working on building a healthy fear of the water in her. It's not working too well yet :)
Sunday morning was rough because Sydney did not sleep well at the hotel. We went to Sea World, but didn't stay long. I was hobbling along because my back was killing me. Sydney was overtired too. It was a fabulous experience! But, we survived and at least we tried to get out and enjoy ourselves.
Sydney was sooo excited to be home and played by herself the rest of the day. Maybe she'll be a home-body like me... but Luke highly doubts it!
We then visited our friends Tosh and Ashlyn and their new baby Jax. He is adorable and soooo small! It makes me more and more excited for our new baby, who will be here in 10 weeks! Yay!
Have you all been watching the Olympics? We love hearing the stories and watching the amazing athleticism. Of course, gymnastics has been the best to watch :)
Luke starts his next masters class this week. I cancelled my exercise class to avoid more stress and to protect my back a little more.
Luke's great uncle, Uncle Bob, passed away last week. I wish I had the chance to meet him, he sounded like such a great man. His wife, Bobbie Jean, is so precious and I just love her spunk. All of the Maddux family, etc are in our prayers this week.

Water Balloons at Mills House
The girls had such a blast playing with the water balloons. Jonny was a good sport and kept refilling balloons, just to have the girls pop them immediately. Sydney cracked up every time a balloon popped.

Crazy Saturday
Today was so much fun.
Our good friends Ashlyn and Tosh had their baby boy, Jax. I spent the morning at the hospital while Luke played with Sydney at the beach. It was great being there with their families for an amazing miracle. Jax is beautiful and so tiny! I am in awe of what God did today. Ash and Tosh, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.
This afternoon, we went to Jonny and Denise's for an Olympics celebration party, fun with games and everything! It was so neat to see the things that Denise has collected from China (she spent several weeks there a few years back).
Sydney really enjoyed playing with all the girls. I'll post some photos and videos soon...

Our week
So, this week was kind of busy for us. Luke has a lot on his plate with extra projects at work and he is taking over for people who are no longer working there.
Sydney had a few doctor appointments. The doctor is tracking the fluid levels in her ears. There has been fluid on her ears for the last few months, and quite possibly a lot longer. We will go back to the doctor in 3 weeks. Anyways... all of this may eventually lead to Sydney needing tubes in her ears so that she can hear better and have less chance of infection.
I was extra tired this week. Not sure why. Probably just the pregnancy wearing on me. I am not teaching my exercise classes this week. I'll start up again on August 18. My goal is to get more organized over the next few weeks as we keep preparing for the next baby. She is so active in my belly! It is a ton of fun feeling her flip around :)

She would stand on the edge and jump in, but not near me... she would try to jump away from me. I had to react quickly to catch her. We'll see how next week goes. :) The Ymca is so much fun. I hope we can keep going once we move to Colorado. It is such a constant in Sydney's life right now. We go everyday and she plays with other kids for over an hour.
