Well, we took Sydney to the doctor yesterday. She has a full blown ear infection in one ear and a slight infection in the other one. No wonder she has been such a handful lately. Of course, we have two weeks without health insurance (our new insurance starts on April 1). So, it was the worst timing, but what are you going to do? Luckily, she is started on her antibiotic.
Alexi is coming down with the cold symptoms too now. Coughing, etc. Hopefully we'll be lucky and she won't get an ear infection or something worse. Seems like this is just that time of year. Also, working with so many kiddos really takes a toll on everyone.

Syd in High Chair
This is a long video. Sydney was acting really crazy right before I got the camera out. She was doing her "robot." Her favorite time of day is at night, after Alexi is down. She gets her parents all to herself for a few hours. She was stalling (she didn't want to go to bed) by being silly and asking for more Cheerios. She is already trying to work us!
Still sick and the library trip
Sydney is getting sicker. We thought she was over her cold, but last night was the worst yet. She had a fever and was so pale. She went to bed early, but of course woke up a few hours later with a drenched pillow from a sweaty head. Luckily, the medicine brought down her fever at least. This morning, her fever is back. Needless to say, I'll be missing church again this week. We got to get these kiddos healthy!
Our trip to the library this week was an adventure to say the least. I took Sydney (along with Alexi) to the library for the first time. She was in awe and completely in love with the place. She sat on the little kiddy chairs forever and read books. She also played with the legos. It was all going great until I needed to change Alexi's diaper, so we needed to go to the bathroom. How dare I take Miss Sydney away from her joyful time playing with legos. She pitched the biggest tantrum of her life in the middle of the library!! Oh my... It was so embarrassing! We somehow made it into the bathroom and she continued to scream (of course it echoes in those places!) We left right after this. I managed to get her calm enough to check out the books, but then it all happened again in the parking lot as she needed to hold my hand across the street. She, of course, thought that was ridiculous and melted down there too. So, I picked her up and she flailed about like a crazy maniac (I can't believe I didn't drop her!). Well, at least we made it out of there with some books... that is a miracle in itself.
I only write all of this to say that toddlerhood is sometimes insane. It is very rewarding, but as all of you parents know... it is exhausting. Is it bad that I feel some relief from seeing another mom struggle with her kid's tantrum at the park? I guess it makes me feel less alone. Who knows. Keep strong all you parents out there... Our kids will appreciate our discipline some day. I know that I appreciate my parents for their consistency and discpline. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Outside Playtime
Sydney has rediscovered her outside toys. Our backyard is about the same size as our backyard in CA. Many times, Sydney and I will play back here when Alexi is sleeping. Sydney really prefers the large park in front of our house. I have met so many women and kids at our park. It is right next to Remington Elementary, so there is always a crowd there. So much fun for an extrovert like myself.

Car troubles and sickness
Well, these past few weeks have continued to be "normal" for us. Alexi is growing and loves to play on her tummy. Sydney still loves playing at the park across the street and continues to learn more words and small sentences. It has been so much fun watching our girls grow. We've had a few bouts of sickness, just colds (not the terrible stomach bug that hit our entire gym!). Luke and Sydney are still fighting colds right now.
Both of our vehicles have been having a few "issues" lately. We hope to get the Jeep up and running by this week. So, we are stuck home for yet another day. Luke is working today and I have the day off. We are loving our jobs. There are so many different things that we are doing on a daily basis, so that keeps it extra fun.
Well, we are off to the park. I'll try to take some pics for all the relatives across the country. Luke's mom is coming to visit in a few weeks... we are so excited!

The Craziness of Life
Time has been flying by for us. I can't believe how insane life is right now. We are diving into so much, that I know we need to take a step back and really reflect on what God is doing in our lives.
With the help of Virginia, Luke and I have been able to get a bit more done this week. More unpacking, organizing the garage, fixing shingles that fly off the roof... the list goes on.
I worked this morning at the gym doing a few Mommy and Me classes. Virginia kept track of Sydney while I ran the class. It is so much fun watching how much Sydney loves jumping and swinging.
Alexi is finding her voice. She "talks" now, making adorable baby noises. She is such a good baby now that I have eliminated all dairy from my diet. Something about allergic foods in a mother's diet that can really affect a breastfed baby.
What is your story these days? I love hearing from each of you. Please forgive me for the delayed responses. We hope to be back to normal soon.
