So, we made it to Colorado Springs a little over a week ago. My sister and mom flew with me and the girls. Dad drove my Jeep the 1200 miles for me! Thanks Dad! Luke will be driving out this Friday. We can't wait to be together again.
Dad has been busy painting the entire inside of our house. Mom and Ashley have been helping me clean it (the tenants were really gross and should be incredibly embarrassed by their behavior). Lots of repairs are still needed, but Luke will get to enjoy those :)
We said goodbye to some very dear friends of ours. We loved California and the wonderful relationships we made there.
I think the saddest part of moving was knowing that Sydney and her best friend, Bailey, didn't know what was coming. They played (and fought....) up to the minute of goodbye. Sydney is already asking to go see Bailey. It breaks my heart. Now we are just hoping that Jonny and Denise are assigned to the Colo Spgs area for one of their next bases. I just can't picture them NOT being best friends! They are so sweet together.
Sydney has been getting better with all the adjustments. The first week was probably the hardest. You can tell she is stressed and doesn't understand what is going on. It'll only get better when Luke comes and when we are in our house with all our stuff.
Alexi is still a typical baby. She is cooing now and doing better with sleeping at night. She still seems to suffer from stomach pains during the day, but those are slowly improving. Her naps are also really short, but maybe that is just how my kids are. Sydney was the same way.
We are excited for all these changes. We'll try to keep posting updates. Hopefully the movers will come with our stuff sometime next week. I'm supposed to start working next week as well... the boss needed me a bit earlier than we had planned. We are trying to just roll with it. Please keep us in your prayers...
much love,
Trisha
