I'm back...

Hi everyone! I'm back and ready to write more updates :) thanks for your thoughts and prayers during the long process that they call labor. It was a roller coaster of emotions and plenty of physical pain. Praise the Lord it is over and everyone is healthy and mostly happy (Sydney is not entirely thrilled about sharing Mommy!)

We decided to leave a little early from the hospital. The hospital beds are not the most comfortable! Also, I thought it would be best for Sydney to have Mommy and Daddy home with her to give her some peace of mind. Sydney had a great night's rest.... As for the rest of us, you know the story... 2nd night with a newborn.... a tad exhausting. Grandma took over most of the night and let us get some rest.... Wow, what would we do without our moms?! She is such a blessing.

Luke had to go to work this morning. So, just me, mom, Sydney and Alexi today. We have managed so far. Sydney is really struggling to adjust. Hopefully it will get easier instead of harder.

Well, my sister flies in tomorrow morning! Yay! And then my dad flies in Friday! I'm so excited to have more family around. Wish we could have waited for everyone to have this baby, but thank God I didn't.... I cannot imagine pushing out a 9 lb baby! 8 lb, 8 oz was massive in my opinion! Oh my. And, did they mention that the epidural had worn off almost completely for the last 1-2 hours of labor? And, of course I was practically crowning for an hour while we waited for the doctor! I was incredibly unhappy :( Oh well, at least we have our little chunkie monkey out of all this. She is so precious.

Ok, I must go... I'll try to post pics and more info soon... Thanks for your prayers. Keep them coming, we truly felt God's peace on Monday. We really needed it.

Hello all,
Thanks for your many encouraging and sweet comments you posted over the last couple days. We just got home Tuesday night and put tired little Sydney down for the night and now we're taking care of the newbie. Well Trish is the one taking care of her...I'm playing around on the computer.

So we decided on the name this morning: Alexi Kendall

From the Hospital

This is Julie and Carol with an update on what's going on in the hospital. Luke and Trisha went to the hospital around 5:30 and Trisha was admitted shortly there after. She has gotten the initial medication to start inducing her labor process and will be started on Pitocon at 2am. They are going to try to rest between now and then and they sound like they are doing really well thus far. Please keep them in your thoughts! We will keep you updated through the comments of this post as we receive updates.

After Bathtime...

This is a tradition for Luke and Sydney after bathtime. I always hear those two cracking up in her room!

Crying lots and lots with no sleep...

Yes, some of you may think that this is the pregnant lady I'm talking about.... but, no, Sydney has been having 5 rough days where she cries 30 minutes to 3 hours at night and during naptime (most of the time leading to no nap!) We took her to the doctor today and he said that there is no ear infection or anything. It is so frustrating. I didn't get to see her regular pediatrician, but I don't think that matters too much.
Anyways, she is crying right now (again!) I hate that I'm getting so stressed about it. I feel helpless. Moms, any ideas??? We give her Motrin or Tylenol, but she still wakes up in the middle of the night or early morning and can't console herself. She has not done this for at least a year!
Well, any advice would be great. Please pray for us as we get so close to having this baby and with Sydney possibly sick.

Braxton Hicks Contractions

Hello Everyone!
So... I have been having a lot more braxton hicks contractions (contractions that are "practice contractions"). Last night Luke and I thought we may end up in the hospital by the morning, but finally they stopped and I fell asleep. We were up most of the night, proabably only getting 3-4 hours of sleep. We are exhausted today. I'm still not due for another 3+ weeks, so this may go on for awhile. Hopefully we'll get more sleep soon.
